Practice Ride
New for 2008 - The Practice Ride is for registered Hillclimb racers ONLY?
Is there a field limit to the practice ride?
Yes. The field will be limited to approx. 300 riders
When is the practice ride?
Sunday, July 20th from 5-7 a.m.
How do I register for the practice ride?
Registration will open a few days after the Hillclimb sells out. A special link will be emailed to each registered racers. This link will allow you to register for the PR.
Is there a cost to the do the practice ride?
If you are registered for the Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb, there is no additional cost for the practice ride. Registered Hillclimb racers will need to give their ID # found on the confirmation form from registration.
The Practice Ride is NOT open to the general public.
I'm already signed up for the practice ride, where do I need to be to start?
The practice ride will take place on Sunday, July 20, 2008 with riders starting up the mountain between 5:00 and 7:00a.m. All riders must be present between the hours of 5 -7 a.m. at the base of the Mt Washington Auto Road.
No riders will be permitted after 7:00 a.m. , no exceptions.
How do I get back down?
All riders must prove they have a driver that can bring them back down. Under no circumstances will a rider be permitted to ride if they don't have a ride down; no exceptions.
Is there a charge for cars?
Mt Washington Auto Road rates are posted on their web site. The Auto Road Toll House will be following weight and car restrictions. Please email Mary if you have any questions or again visit the Auto Road web site. The Toll House does accept Credit Cards.
Will there be any amenities at the practice ride?
Note. The practice ride is unsupported, there won't be any: food, water, mechanical support, timing, blankets, awards, EMTs, etc. So if there is something you think you might need, be sure to bring it with you!
